A positive way of life

“Phool ko aankha ma phoolai sansara……..” by Ani Choying Drolma

One of the most soul soothing Nepali songs that has crossed borders.  It is one of the few songs that I sing to my daughter, her Nepali lullaby along with numerous-  Old McDonald, Hush little baby, B-I-N-G-O, Three little kittens.

It is also the one Nepali song that she knows to sing, one line of it (need to teach her more though).  When she heard Holie singing it at the PKD fundraiser, she gets excited when I ask her to sing it and I have overheard her singing it to herself.

The song has been my staple in many ways.  So, I thought of writing about this particular song.  For me, it is an instant meditation and something that centers my attention.  The words lives my moment as I rejoice in its lyrics. I can’t live by all it stands for but it gives me joy and calmness and helps me remain positive.

Keeping yourself positive I believe, is one of the simplest ways to find a solution, get over the hardships.  It is the easiest way to accept criticisms, rejections, let downs, failures to improve upon, start afresh, get up, and to keep going forward.

When the positive outlook is overshadowed by the problems at hand, you get sucked in, it’s a sink hole out there for you to wallow in. One that never wants you to get out until you see that silver lining peeking out for you to wiggle yourself out of there ….. out in the light.

When one door closes, others open, you have to keep your eyes open.

So here is to hopeful eyes and a positive life!
